Tissot just introduced the new Sideral reference, a modern reimagining of its iconic ‘70s Sideral S, which was the world’s first fiberglass watch.
Offered in red, yellow, and blue, the Sideral is presented in a lightweight yet robust design that echoes the original piece’s ideals for innovation, adventure, and excitement. Housed in a 41mm case composed of forged carbon and stainless steel, the dial is also equipped with a lume-filled regatta countdown gauge design. Doused in black PVD with a diver and regatta graduation, the unidirectional bezel also boasts a sporty look that accommodates and completes the multi-colored dial.
Viewable from the open sapphire crystal caseback, the Tissot Sideral operates on a reliable and highly-precise, Powermatic 80 Nivachron mechanical movement, which runs on the brand’s new skeletonized rotor. Boasting up to 80 hours of running time, the watch is also geared with 30 bars of water resistance.
Tying the watch’s bold and colorful aesthetic together, the Sideral is paired with perforated rubber straps that correspond to the color of the dials, complete with the model’s unique fastening system. On top of that, additional strap color options in green, orange, and black are also offered for a wider range of styling possibilities.
Retailing for £915 GBP ( approximately $1,134 USD), the newly-unveiled Tissot Sideral is available for purchase at the brand’s official website.
