Golden Goose and Coronet have linked up to celebrate Earth Day and unveil the YATAY sneaker, the first collaborative release as a part of Italy’s first co-action platform for sustainable innovation.
Set to launch towards the end of 2022, the name derives from a particular species of palm (Butia Yatay) and symbolizes the principle of circularity — the ultimate sustainable goal in the pair’s innovation journey.
Blending Coronet’s expertise in the research and production of animal-free, bio-based materials with Golden Goose’s position in the luxury sneaker market, the duo delivers the YATAY Model 1B, a combination of craftsmanship, sustainable innovation and vision.
Reducing CO2 emissions by 90% and water usage by 65%, the YATAY Model 1B features a heat-stamped number embossed on left heel tab, which gives wearers the opportunity to offset and take part in this co-action by planting a tree in the brand’s Golden Forest, follow its growth and the amount of CO2 it absorbs.
Arriving in a crisp white colorway, bio-based upper, white Y and biodegradable sole, the YATAY Model 1B is available to buy globally now from both Golden Goose and Coronet, retailing at $350 USD.
