New Balance is ramping its popular 327 up for the summer with two new color schemes: “Natural Indigo” and “Sour Grape.” Both fresh makeups of the ’70s-inspired runner offer bold colorblocking and appealing material contrast, making for worthy additions to the NB lifestyle canon.
“Natural Indigo” mixes rich dark blue overlays with a golden-brown base tone dubbed “Faded Workwear,” a nod to well-loved Carhartt and Ben Davis jackets. Branding is handled by a large red N on the lateral quarter and a small sail New Balance spellout on the medial heel. On the other hand, “Sour Grape” places its eponymous tone on the base layer and brings an olive shade dubbed “Bleached Lime Glo” to the overlays for a palette somewhat reminiscent of past Stray Rats x New Balance collaborations. The lateral side’s N is presented in a light lime shade, the medial side’s New Balance spellout in black. Each pair is built from a combination of ripstop mesh and suede and is completed by sail midsoles plus signature nubbed black rubber outsoles.
The New Balance 327 “Natural Indigo” and “Sour Grape” are both available now via the New Balance webstore. The MSRP for each is set at $90 USD.
