After working on a Candy Land-themed capsule in April, Hasbro and Reebok have teamed up for another nostalgia-filled collection centered around beloved NERF hoops. Consisting of four shoes — two takes on the Pump Omni Zone II, a Kamikaze II and a Kamikaze II Low — the selection is a big, bold and colorful slam dunk, sure to spark fierce nostalgia in both ’90s babies who grew up hoopin’ on mini NERF hoops and young-at-heart hoop fans alike.
Leading the selection off are the two takes on the Pump Omni Zone II, a shoe made iconic by Dee Brown in the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The “Light Jammer” boasts a vivid splatter print with glow-in-the-dark detailing on uppers and outsoles alike, inspired by the NERF hoop of the same name. On the other end, there’s the “Big Bad Backboard,” with large tongue branding, bold lightning graphics and more.
Next up are the Kamikaze II and Kamikaze II Low, styles originally designed for the high-flying Shawn Kemp. Both are done up in a similar “Backboard Breaker” colorway that features splatter print detailing and a plethora of bright tones atop the upper’s zig-zagging overlays. All four silhouettes are completed by a “NERF or Nothin’” stamp on the lace tips.
The NERF x Reebok footwear collection will release for Reebok UNLOCKED and Hasbro Pulse members June 24 before a full retail debut on the Reebok webstore June 25. Prices range from $110-$160 USD.
