Back in 2019, G-Dragon was named among the “50 Art Collectors to Watch” and the K-Pop artist has wasted no time shelling out on the decor of the $10.4 million USD penthouse in Seoul he bought last year. Shortly after purchasing the property, he took to Instagram in a 10-slide post to give fans a look at some of the pieces he chose to display in his home. In this episode of TAGGED, HYPEBEAST takes a look at what he showed off.
The photo series opens in G-Dragon’s dining room, where Jean Prouvé chairs and a handcrafted one-piece dining table take center stage. He then continues into a living area, featuring art works by Alexander Calder and Richard Prince, furnishings by Jean Royere and Ron Arad, and smaller accents like a rare Man Ray chess set and Hermès pillows. Continuing through various hallways are decorated with prints, sculptures and paintings, the series concludes in an entertainment room, anchored by one of Charlotte Perriand‘s hanging bookcases; you’ll also find an Ettore Sottas 1973 “Shiva Vase” sitting on its lowest shelf. A Swing-Jib Wall Light designed by Jean Prouvé in the ’50s, which sells for around $27,500 USD, cuts across the right side of the frame.
