Porsche is expanding its 911 lineup with an all-new lightweight sports car: the 911 Carrera T. Notably, the “T” stands for touring, articulating the vehicle’s purist driving experience and sporty mechanics.
This latest model arrives with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-6 engine as the flagship 911, pumping 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. Weighing 3,241 pounds, the Carrera T is the lightest series 911 with the entry-level engine.
Building on the base model, which can only be matched with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the T can also be paired with the seven-speed manual of the Carrera S. In manual, the company states that the T can reach 60 mph in 4.3 seconds; and with the dual-clutch automatic, it can reach the same speed in just 3.8 seconds. For both, the car boasts a maximum speed of 181 mph.
Notably, the T model is equipped with active sport suspension and torque technology at no extra cost. Additionally, the sports car is packed with Porsche’s Sport Chrono package, which includes five distinct driving modes, 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels. The base T model comes with a sport exhaust, though rear-axle steering will come at a higher price tag.
The interior includes the manufacturer’s GT Sport steering wheel and four-way electric seats. Decorative matte black trim and high-gloss black inlays set a largely dark tone for the inside, though customers have the option to add the Carrera T interior package, which includes additional safety belts in contrasting hues of Slate Grey or Lizard Green. There’s also the option to add 18-way power sport seats and leather upholstery.
The Carrera T is available in four solid colors — Black, White, Guards Red and Racing Yellow — and in four metallic coats — Deep Black, Gentian Blue, Ice Grey and GT Silver. Additionally, special colors include Chalk, Ruby Star Neo, Carmine Red, Shark Blue and Python Green. It’s also available via Porsche’s Paint to Sample program, which offers over 110 colors.
The Porsche 911 Carrera T will be available to purchase in February 2023 for $118,050 USD, with a $1,450 USD destination charge. Take a look at the new vehicle in the gallery above.
