Fast jet aviators and civilians alike have the chance to pick up Oris’ latest pilot’s watch, the result of a new partnership with Spain’s Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP).
Founded in Albacete in 1978, TLP is an elite military pilot training school that prepares ‘NATO allied coalition forces for worldwide tactical air operations.’
The first physical result of the partnership is a a 750-piece limited edition ProPilot which sees the watch’s 44mm stainless steel case coated in an anti-glare gunmetal grey PVD and paired with a green dial based on the color of the TLP’s flight suits and beige printed text and indices completing the military theme.
The watch is presented on a strap made of green Ventile, a high-density 100% cotton fabric which provides an effective barrier against the elements something that, in the Second World War, saw it save the lives of pilots forced to ditch in the sea when it was used to make immersion suits. A matching gun metal grey deployant clasp, released by an aviation-style lift tab, is used to secure the watch.
While us civilians will have to content ourselves with the limited edition run of the ProPilot TLP Limited Edition, graduating pilots will be offered the chance to purchase a bespoke individually numbered piece carrying their name and graduating year.
You can reserve your preferred number from the 750-piece run via Oris now, priced £1,850 GBP ($2,566 USD).
Elsewhere in watches, Sotheby’s lists rare Abercrombie & Fitch double signed Heuer Seafarer.
