Nottingham-based label Universal Works has unveiled its latest collection for Fall/Winter 2022 — and it’s called “Hotel Deluxe.”
The new collection has come hot on the heels of the brand’s collaboration with HHV Berlin, where the duo presented a small capsule packed with various fabrications from British workwear classics, to Harris Tweed and German Moleskin. This collection was a solid example of Universal Works’ passion for experimentation with different fabrics and styles, and while the label is more than comfortable to test out different approaches with the latter, each drop from the British label naturally falls back under its unique brand identity of supplying contemporary garments that are suitable everyday wear, smarter occasions, and outdoor exploration.
For “Hotel Deluxe,” Universal Goods has released a selection of parka jackets, warm fleece-lined coats, and heavy-set capes. The collection also features new interpretations of the brand’s classic fleece designs, while Japanese fabrics are also introduced for sharper and more sophisticated looks.
For example, highlights from the collection are the Cabin Jacket in “Midnight 8 Wale Cord.” The jacket is crafted from thick corduroy, while elements of soft cotton are used alongside the color-dyed outer to give the jacket a rich and lively finish. Additionally, Universal Goods has presented new Pleated Track Pants which are designed with a loose and tapered finish. The trousers are also made with an elasticated waistband with a drawcord, while the two front pockets give extra space for everyday items.
