Actress Lily-Rose Depp made quite a bold statement when celebrating her girlfriend 070 Shake’s 26th birthday.
Seemingly unphased by the controversy surrounding her new show The Idol, Lily-Rose shared a series of cute pics for her girlfriend’s birthday.
Shake, real name Danielle Balbuena, and the 24-year-old have been together since February this year and were first spotted getting cosy at Paris Fashion Week.
Lily confirmed the relationship in a post last month, calling Shake her ‘crush’ but has now stepped things up by declaring the rapper the ‘love of my life’.
Shake is most well-known for her feature on the single Escapism by Raye as well as working with Kanye West on his album Ye.
She shared a cheeky mirror selfie of them together, with the flash over Shake’s face, on her story with the caption: ‘Happy Birthday love of my life.’
This was followed by a snap of the pair backstage with Shake smoking a cigarette as Lily leans in for an embrace, as well as a fun picture of the rapper leaning on Lily’s feet.
The final picture was of Lily kissing Shake on the cheek with the words ‘te ami Dani’ written on the side.
Although she tends to keep her relationships private, The Idol actress has been linked to Timothée Chalamet in the past after the pair were caught making out on a yacht.
The pair parted ways in 2020 and she was then seen with rapper Yassine Stein in 2021, although no break-up was ever publicised the pair did unfollow each other on social media.
She once told Drew Barrymore that ‘the value of privacy’ had been ‘instilled’ in her from ‘an early age’.
Lily is likely enjoying the attention being on her girlfriend for the day after backlash over her new show The Idol, which has been panned by critics.
As an up-and-coming young pop idol, Lily’s character Jocelyn begins dating the leader of a modern-day cult, Tedros, portrayed by The Weeknd.
Despite similarities on the surface between Lily and Jocelyn, the actress insisted she had a ‘quite different’ upbringing with a ‘sense of normalcy’ to keep her grounded.
Some have accused The Idol of being ‘torture porn’ and condemned the over-sexualisation of the entire show, especially when it comes to Jocelyn.
It appears that Johnny Depp stands by his daughter’s acting choices as an insider told Mail Online: ‘He believes that she must be doing something right since the role is getting so much attention, and he is proud of her success.’
