With the release date of The Matrix Resurrections inching ever closer, Warner Bros. released a new trailer over at The Game Awards 2021 bringing back one of the original trilogy’s fan-favorite characters: Laurence Fishburne‘s Morpheus.
Featured above, the new clip follows Keanu Reeves‘ Neo as he gets reacquainted with the Matrix and the duality of his world, with Jessica Henwick’s Bugs as his tour guide. After stepping through different dimensions and locations, Neo ultimately walks into a room to meet the film’s new Morpheus, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who plays to him clips of his past. No doubt as a nod to Fishburne, his version of the character also flashes on the screen, alongside a younger Neo and Trinity.
Check out the new trailer above while you wait for The Matrix Resurrections to arrive at theaters and on HBO Max on December 22.
Elsewhere in entertainment, the Halo live-action series has dropped its first trailer.
