London-based Labrum’s unique ability to tell deep, untold stories through its work has fast seen it become one of the most exciting brands around. As is the case with each of its collections, the goal is to not only create work that embodies the modern day members of the African diaspora, but to accurately tell the stories of those who came before them too.

From the tale of a black community living in London facing deportation, to its exploration of Sierra Leonean heritage, aesthetics and symbolism, Labrum aims to help bridge the gap between western and West African culture, and for Spring/Summer 2022 it’s no different.

Through “The Sound of Movement” Labrum celebrates the style and culture brought over to Britain in the 1970s by Caribbean and African migrants, which in turn embodies its ‘Designed by an immigrant’ mantra.

Bold, tie-dye prints add pops of color to classic tailored looks, while striking graphics by artist Yinka Ilori enhance to the collection’s uniqueness. Large celebratory collars compliment African silhouettes with flared sleeves, while the Agbada style is reflected through drop shoulders presented on the Freetown shirt, which arrives in a mix of blues and greens.
