Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign‘s multi-stadium listening event scheduled for November 3 is reportedly cancelled.
Sources tell Billboard that in addition to the cancellation of the event, the pair have also scrapped their plans of releasing their joint album on the same night. Although neither Ye or Ty’s album have confirmed the news, no ticket or venue information was released to the public despite the event being two days away. The report adds that “several other issues” could have proven to be major roadblocks for the event, including the planning with local officials, insurance policies and its publicity. There’s also the ongoing football season, meaning that many of the stadiums are being used for professional and college football and the teams would most likely decline any of use of their home venues that will damage the turf or interfere with operations.
The listening event was initially teased by Ty on social media about two weeks ago, with a post showing the “Y” Japanese Yen symbol and the dollar sign symbol, along with the text “multi stadium listening event November 3rd.” There were also reports of the joint album dropping as early as October 13, but was delayed as West looked for a distributor.
