Caroline Polachek‘s sophomore album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You is a captivating, maximalistic hyper-pop escape. The songstress stopped by NPR Music to deliver a beguilling Tiny Desk performance that drenched some of the album’s most memorable stops in her honeyed, heavenly vocals.

Known for her ethereal vocals and commendable range, Polacheck’s dreamy delivery of each verse, hook, and chorus sounds just as majestic as it does in the studio. Polachek delivered four stripped-down songs off the lively album – “Pretty In Possible,” “Blood And Butter,” “Sunset” and “I Believe” – deeming “I Believe” the one she “changed the most for Tiny Desk.”

Polachek is also revered for her haunting yet whimsical aura, an energy she infuses throughout most of her songs. She came strapped with her tuning fork and chalice, kicking off the performance with a pitch check, and indulging in a mid-set water break via an ornate drinking vessel. The songstress transforms the intimate venue into a limitless stage, expanding the performance to encompass the entirety of the room, even including the band’s crisp clap-along beat on “Sunset.” Stream Polachek’s Tiny Desk in full in the gallery above.

Elsewhere in the music industry, Bad Bunny has revealed the name of his forthcoming album, which lands on streaming this Friday.
