COVID-19 has taken a toll on almost every industry imaginable, but one of the most suffered is the music world. While independents continue to fight for survival, COVID-safe festivals begin to roll out, and the nightlife industry maintains a sense of hope for a brighter and busier future, other companies are thinking of new ways to keep the music industry alight and keep the fans content.
Enter Bandsintown, a new Netflix-style subscription service bringing concerts to your home. For just $9.99 USD a month, the platform will provide over 25 live-streamed gigs a month alongside a live Q&A chat with your favorite bands.
Between January and February, Bandsintown is set to host the likes of Little Dragon, Phoebe Bridgers, Chromeo, Empress Of, Fleet Foxes, a Toro y Moi DJ set, and many more yet to be announced. What’s more, the subscription service is also giving new customers a free trial period to see if watching a live gig from the comfort of your (very worn in) sofa is right for you. Everything is served up in HD quality with Hi-Fi sound, and the content is supported on all devices.
More information about Bandsintown’s livestreams can be found on its website, where you can also sign up for the subscription.
Elsewhere in the music world, here are the sounds and projects that you may have missed this week.
