Jordan Brand is knee-deep in the rollout of its Summer 2021 Air Jordan retro collection, and will be previewing Fall 2021’s Air Jordan lineup in the coming days as well. One key piece of that fall slate? The Air Jordan 12 “Royalty,” a regal new colorway reminiscent of the classic Air Jordan 12 “Taxi” and 2017’s Air Jordan 4 “Royalty.”
As is to be expected from any sneaker with a kingly nom de guerre, the “Royalty” offers several regal accents, namely gold hits on the tongue’s Jumpman logo, the throat’s signature “TWO3” graphic, the midfoot’s plastic branded badge and the duo of metal eyestays up top. Apart from the gold, the rest of the top half is mostly “Taxi”-inspired, with a white tumbled leather base overlaid by black pebbled leather mudguards. More pebbled detailing graces the midsole’s forefoot, and a carbon fiber plate under the arch works with black outsoles to round off the look.
Early reports state that the Air Jordan 12 “Royalty” is slated to release on October 9, but this has yet to be officially confirmed by the Jumpman. The MSRP will be set at $190 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of Jordan Brand, Billie Eilish’s forthcoming Air Jordan 1 KO collaboration was just revealed.
