In the first teaser of Netflix‘s LeBron James-produced basketball film, Hustle, Adam Sandler delivers a love letter to basketball as a devoted scout.
Hustle follows the story of a former professional basketball scout, played by Sandler, who embarks on the journey of remaking his career after he discovers an overseas player with great potential. The movie dissects the mental and physical lengths that both Sandler’s character Stanley Beren, and the player Bo Cruz, portrayed by Juancho Hernangómez, have to go through in order to get into the NBA and become a household name in America. The trailer shows Stanley giving a dramatic pep talk to Cruz, making sure that he truly loves the game or else there is no point in moving forward in their partnership.
Sandler, who has been a long time fan of the sport and known for his regular pickup games, will star alongside Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall and Ben Foster. The film is produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Company.
Hustle arrives on Netflix on June 10.
