The trailer for Adam Driver‘s newest sci-fi thriller has officially been released. Titled 65, the Sony Pictures project sees Driver return to outer space, this time as an astronaut who has just crash landed on Earth, 65 million years ago.
In this film, Driver plays the titular character of Mills, and the only other survivor of the crash landing, Koa, played by Arianna Greenblatt, as they fight to survive and brave through unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures. Written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the brains behind the epic 2018 thriller, A Quiet Place, the duo also produced and directed the movie. 65 is co-produced between Beck/Woods as well as Columbia Pictures and Raimi Productions.
In a recent statement to The Knockturnal, Woods said, “For us, [65] was the project we wrote when A Quiet Place came out and the studio decided it was going to be a franchise and sequel. We wrote A Quiet Place because we were tired of the sequels. The only movies that were being made were sequels and franchises and comic book movies. We wrote this movie in the wake of that.” Ben added, “It’s the one that’s been gestating in our heads for years and years.”
65 originally finished production in February 2021. The film arrives in theaters on March 10, 2023.
In other entertainment news, Henry Cavill recently confirmed he will “not be returning as Superman.”
