Former Boston Celtics player Paul Pierce‘s name made headlines in April 2021 after he was fired as an analyst for ESPN. His ousting at the network came just days after he posted a video on his Instagram Live in which he was at a party smoking and drinking with several exotic dancers in the room.
Following the racy video, Pierce’s wife started trending. Here’s what we know about Julie Landrum including when she and Pierce got hitched and the other NBA star she dated before meeting her husband.
Landrum’s occupation
Landrum was born on Feb. 24, 1983, in St. Louis, Missouri.
After graduating from Parkway Central High School, Landrum attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and earned a two-year degree in fashion buying and merchandising. She went on to study interior design at the New York School of Interior Design and got her BA. Landrum then attended Rhode Island School of Design, where she earned her MFA in Furniture Design.
She founded her own interior design business in 2009 and has decorated the private residences of athletes, entertainers, and politicians in the U.S. and Canada. Landrum has been named an Elle Décor A-List Designer, a Traditional Home Top-20 Design Icon, and made the Traditional Home list of the World’s Top 20 Interior Designers.
When the couple got married and how many children they have
Pierce and Landrum started dating right after the NBA All-Star weekend in 2005. The former basketball star previously spoke about hitting it off with her.
“She’s an amazing woman,” Pierce told Boston.com. “We get along so well because we were such good friends. We started dating… The next thing I know we’re living together. Man, we clicked, we bonded.”
Two years into their relationship, Landrum learned she was pregnant with their first child. On April 4th, 2008, the couple welcome a daughter, Prianna Lee Pierce. On choosing their baby’s first name Pierce said: “I just thought of it. Thought it sounded nice, thought it fit her… We had three names– Piper, Prianna, one was like Priscilla. Something with a P. [Landrum] was stuck on Piper until I told her Prianna.”
In 2010, the pair tied the knot at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California, in front of 80 guests. Prianna, then 2, was the flower girl. Pierce and Landrum have two more children. The couple’s second daughter, Adrian Tanya Pierce, was born in 2011 followed by their son, Prince Paul Pierce, in 2013.
The NBA player Landrum dated before Pierce
Before she and Pierce got together, Landrum dated another baller.
Landrum was in a relationship with Larry Hughes, who had stints with eight NBA teams during his career and played Kelly Rowland’s “boo” in the music video of Nelly’s single “Dilemma.”
According to Fabwags, Landrum wasn’t aware Hughes was married to his wife, Carrie, when they got together. Once she found out, Landrum broke things off with him.
