Sam Faiers has admitted she felt “anxious” about going out as she attended her first red carpet event following the leaked voice note drama with her former pal Ferne McCann.

The 31 year old attended the Pride of Britain Awards last week, but speaking on her and sister Billie Shepherd’s podcast The Sam & Billie Show after the event, Sam revealed that she felt nervous about the red carpet and her look.

“I scrubbed up alright,” said Sam, who celebrated the event with her partner Paul Knightley. “I did like it and I think I was just being a little bit self-conscious or a little bit anxious because it’s not what I’m used to, that hair and make-up.”

"Was it your first red carpet since Edward?" sister Billie asked. "It was," replied Sam, with Billie adding: "And it was almost like, 'You're back!'"

The red carpet event, which celebrates the nation’s unsung heroes, was Sam’s first since she welcomed her third child, son Edward, in May.

She continued of the night: “When I was getting my make-up done I didn’t see it until the end.

"We kind of had a brief and I knew I wanted slick hair and I knew with the make-up I wanted to go quite felinely and a little bit different.

“But for me it was quite a lot and for me it felt quite dramatic, although it wasn’t, mum was like, ‘I think it’s just you’.

"I mean I loved it, it looked really lovely but I was like, ‘Do I look really different?’ You know when It’s a completely different look.”

“But it’s nice nice to look different because I think it has more of an impact,” replied Billie, 32, who recently moved into her new home, a £1.4 million mansion in Essex.

Sam continued: “Yeah I feel if you’re going to do it and look different and push the boundaries a little bit you do it on a red carpet don’t you? When you’re trying out new looks or hair dos.”

Sam found herself in the middle of a drama fit for TOWIE back in September with her former co-star and friend Ferne after voice notes allegedly featuring Ferne’s voice stared being leaked on a mystery Instagram account.

The voice notes appeared to show Ferne fat shaming childhood friend Sam and calling her a “fat c**t” and a “narcissistic b***h”, while another saw allegedly her taking a swipe at Billie for calling her five-year-old son the same name as her ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins, who is currently in prison.

Both Sam and Ferne are yet to break their silence on the reports, but Sam’s mum Suzie Wells took to Instagram on the day the voice notes were leaked to say she was “shocked” and the things said in the voice notes were “very upsetting”.
