It looks like there’s hope for reconciliation between Prince Harry and Prince William, as the brothers were seen talking after they left the funeral of their grandfather Prince Philip on Saturday. But The Daily Mail reports that Harry has faced “a great deal of frostiness” from the extended royal family since returning home to England in the aftermath of his bombshell Oprah interview—and there are claims that Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Edward’s wife Sophie did not acknowledge him before or during Philip’s funeral service.
As a reminder, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told Oprah why they stepped down as senior royals, openly discussing the bullying, mental health struggles, and racism Meghan in particular experienced. Harry also touched on his strained relationship with Prince Charles and Prince William.
The royals haven’t taken much accountability for Harry and Meghan’s claims in the interview, and a source says “They [the royals] are still very upset. They are putting on a united front for the Queen. They all think he has behaved appallingly.”
The good news is that it appears as though the brothers are on their way to reconciling—and Harry may even change the date of his return to L.A. in order to stay for Queen Elizabeth’s upcoming birthday. A source tells The Sun that “It’s early days but you’d hope this is exactly the first step Philip would have wished for,” and that “It is not known what was said behind closed doors and when the cameras were turned off,” but “Harry and William appeared cordial as the cameras rolled and that seemed to pave the way for Charles to join them when everyone had left.”
