Pete Davidson, who has previously spoken candidly about mental health issues, has checked into a rehab facility as his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, stands by him.

Pete has checked in to the facility, amid his ongoing battle with Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD, to take a “mental break”, the DailyMail confirmed on Wednesday 28 June.

The outlet also reported that his 27 year old girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders, who he has rumoured to have been dating since the beginning of the year, is standing by him.

A source told Page Six that a visit to the rehab facility is not unusual for the celeb as he “regularly goes” to take a “mental break”.

Another source close to Pete added: “Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it."

“He's taking a well-deserved break so he can focus on himself and learn to better deal with his PTSD issues.”

OK! has contacted Pete Davidsons' representatives for comment.

Petes rehab admission followed after he clashed with PETA regarding his recent puppy purchase and left a strongly worded voicemail for the animal rights organisation.

PETA reported that the actor directed the heated message to Daphna Nachminovitch, their Senior VP of Cruelty Investigations.

Pete obtained her name after she released a statement to TMZ, expressing PETA's collective disappointment over his decision to buy a puppy from a New York pet store instead of adopting from a shelter. In the voicemail, Pete introduces himself and addresses Daphna's statement, which he describes as uninformed and premature.

He explaind that he suffers from a dog allergy, which is why he had to get a cavapoo, a breed known for being almost hypoallergenic due to its minimal shedding.

Pete explained that he purchased the dog for his mother, who recently lost her previous companion. He then launched into a rant where he instructed Daphna to conduct thorough research before speaking to the media, dropped an F-bomb, and made a vulgar suggestion.

PETA then responded, telling TMZ: "If Pete had done his research, he would know that there’s no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog, that at least a quarter of dogs in shelters are purebreds, and that Petfinder has listings for homeless dogs of every breed under the sun, including the one he purchased."

Pete then went on to explain that his anger came from a place of grief, as he said: “I haven't seen my mom and sister cry like that in over 20 years. I was trying to cheer up my family. I was already upset that the store had filmed me without my permission or acknowledgement."
