Meghan Markle is reportedly planning a home birth at her mansion in California to welcome her second child with her husband Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex, 39, is said to be planning to give birth to her baby girl at home, after plans to have a home birth with son Archie didn’t go ahead.

Meghan, who is set to have a film made about herself and her husband Harry's decision to leave the Royal Family, gave birth to son Archie at Portland Hospital in 2019 with her husband Harry, 36, by her side.

But, it was reported at the time that the Duchess originally wanted to give birth at Frogmore Cottage, with the support of an all female midwife team.

Now, Meghan is said to hope to have a home birth with her second child.

A source has told Page Six: “Meghan’s plan was to have a home birth with Archie, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans.

“In the end, her doctors advised her to go to hospital and all she was interested in was about delivering Archie safely.

“But she has a beautiful home in California, it’s a beautiful setting to give birth to her baby girl.”

OK! online has contacted a representative for Meghan Markle for comment.

Meghan and Harry, who Piers Morgan recently said “can’t be happy”, have kept the details about the upcoming arrival of their second child private.

But, during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired earlier this month, Meghan and Harry revealed they are expecting a baby girl.

When quizzed about the gender of their unborn child Meghan revealed she wanted to wait for Harry to speak about their tot.

And when joined by her husband in the second half of the interview, she told the chat show host: “It’s a girl”.

Speaking about his feelings about having a baby girl, Harry told Oprah: “Just grateful. To have any child, any one or any two, would have been amazing.

“But to have a boy and then a girl, I mean what more can you ask for? Now we've got our family, we got the four of us and our two dogs.”

The couple announced they were expecting their second child on Valentine’s Day.

A spokesperson for Meghan and 36 year old Prince Harry said at the time: “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
