Winter Love Island 2023 contestant Will Young unfollowing some of his close friends from the villa has sparked speculation about a potential feud. In an interview with Heatworld, Will has shed light on the circumstances that led to his decision to unfollow his villa besties and his focus on what truly matters to him.
The drama began when fans noticed that Will had unfollowed fellow contestants Tom Clare, Casey O’Gorman, Ron Hall, and Kai Fagan on social media. Speaking to Heatworld, Will shared his perspective on the situation. He explained that the unfollowing incident followed a dinner outing that he couldn't attend due to his commitments on the farm and spending quality time with his girlfriend, Jessie.
Will recounted: "So they went out for dinner. I was invited but I couldn't go – I live out of the city, I'm working on the farm and focusing on my girlfriend." He continued by mentioning that after the dinner, he noticed Ron removed him from their group chat.
Reflecting on the situation, Will stated: "I was really confused but I sat back and thought, you've got four people sat at a table, a conversation about me would have happened… So although Ron removed me, I think it was a whole group situation."
Despite the group dynamic, Will expressed that none of the boys reached out to him after Ron's action, and he hasn't been re-added to the group chat. Feeling that the situation brought unnecessary stress into his life, he decided to unfollow them. Will clarified: "That's basically what happened."
While Will still follows other Islanders from his season, he emphasised his priorities, saying: "I'd rather chill out with Jessie and live on the farm… That's my main priority."
Jessie Wynter, Will's girlfriend, shared her perspective on the matter as well. She noted that it's unfortunate to see Will's friends from the villa excluding and being rude to him. She expressed support for Will's choices and highlighted his positive intentions.
Will further explained the demands of his life post-Love Island, particularly his commitment to the farm. He shared how he and Jessie went straight into intense work on the farm after leaving the show, making it a challenging period for them. Will's focus remains clear: building a future with Jessie, where they can marry and have children together.
He addressed the differences in lifestyle and priorities, noting: "I think because Casey is single, I don't know if Tom is or not, but they've got single boy energy and that's not my life. I don't want to go out partying all the time."
Since falling in love earlier this year during their time in the Love Island villa, farmer Will, 23, and Aussie model Jessie, 26, have been going from strength to strength in their relationship.
Speaking to the MailOnline, Will said: "I've got plans for marriage, for kids, proposing. I've got plans for it all."
To which Jessie continued: "No, this is the real deal. We are like inseparable. We're soulmates. We're together all the time and we don't really want to be apart at all."
