‘It’s Romeo and Juliet for beginners!’ Love Island fans slam Montel’s attempt at a moving apology speech after ’embarrassing’ Leah for kissing Tink during Casa Amor
Love Island viewers slammed Montel McKenzie during Monday’s episode as he attempted to deliver a moving apology speech to Leah Taylor for kissing former contestant Tink Reading during Casa Amor.
During Sunday’s Movie Night, footage of Montel locking lips with Tink was shown to the group from before Tink was dumped from the island last week.
This week, semi-professional footballer Montel, 25, gathered the group before running up the the terrace so he could dress his fellow Islanders standing below.
Reading some words from his phone, Motel said to Leah: ‘Obviously I embarrassed you, so it’s only right I embarrass myself as well.
‘First of all I’d like to apologise in front of everyone for what you’ve had to see and hear over the last week.

While Leah appeared to be almost moved to tears and her fellow Islanders were unable to stop smiling as the looked on, the moment did not go down too well with fans, with many taking to Twitter to express their views.
One person wrote: ‘It’s mad because if Montel was his own man and didn’t listen to his CEO Tyrique he wouldn’t even have to do this Romeo and Juliet for beginners speech.’
While someone else shared: ‘Montel’s speech is giving secondary school presentation.’
Another person joked: ‘Chat GPT deffo helped Montel with that speech because that boy can’t string a sentence together.’

It comes after Love Island viewers were delighted as justice was served for Montel during Sunday’s episode as footage of him kissing Tink was shown as part of Movie Night.
Montel was seen leaning in for a kiss with former Islander Tink before they were shown getting close under the duvet in bed.
Montel was heard telling Tink he had more in common with her than Leah as the pair had a shared interest in football.
Despite his actions, Montel decided to dump Tink and stay loyal to Leah after Casa Amor this week, leaving Tink fuming and dropping hefty hints something had happened between her and Montel.
Watching footage of Montel and Tink during Movie Night, Leah looked deeply unimpressed, prompting viewers to take to Twitter to express their disdain for his actions as they insisted he deserved any backlash that may come his way.

Tensions reached breaking point on Wednesday’s Love Island as bombshell Tink Reading lashed out at Montel McKenzie when he chose Leah Taylor over her in the recoupling.
Montel and Tink had shared a bed together during their time in Casa Amor and the Birmingham beauty appeared shocked when Montel announced he had chosen to stay loyal to Leah.
She branded him ‘so fake’ when Leah walked in and they greeted each other and host Maya Jama quickly picked up on the tension.

Asked if any of the bombshells were surprised at Montel’s decision, Tink replied: ‘Yeah, I didn’t think I would be standing here to be honest.
‘The past couple of days, Montel did say he had more in common with me than he did Leah and the night we had in bed together wasn’t exactly PG so.’
Clearly unimpressed, Montel replied: ‘Whatever, you can say whatever you want to say. It wasn’t a very difficult decision for me.’ Tink shot back: ‘I don’t know how you can move like that but stay in a couple, it doesn’t make sense to me.’
