The upcoming Knuckles spinoff series is kicking off production!
Billed as being part of the “Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog,” the upcoming live-action series will take place between the events of last year’s Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming Sonic The Hedghog 3.
As production gets underway for the series, Paramount+ has just revealed all of the stars joining the cast.

Idris Elba is of course returning to voice Knuckles, and he’ll be joined by Adam Pally, who is also reprising his role of Wade Whipple, plus recurring stars Edi Patterson, Julian Barratt, Kid Cudi and Ellie Taylor, as well as guest stars Rory McCann and Tika Sumpter, also reprising her role of Maddie.
Knuckles will follow Knuckles on a “hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”
Sonic The Hedgehog director Jeff Fowler is set to direct the pilot, while the films’ writer John Whittington wrote the pilot script.
In addition to starring, Idris will also executive produce.
While production started in London earlier this month, a release date has not yet been set.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3, however, is slated for a December 20, 2024 release, so the Knuckles series is likely to be out before that.
If you didn’t know, you can also watch Knuckles in the animated Sonic The Hedgehog series, Sonic Prime, which is streaming on Netflix.
