Kit Connor made a brief return to Twitter on Monday night (October 31) with a heartbreaking tweet.

The 18-year-old Heartstopper star felt he was forced to publicly share his sexuality and how he identifies after constant online criticism about his casting on the Netflix show.

Kit came out as bisexual, slamming critics by writing, “congrats for forcing an 18 year old to out himself. i think some of you missed the point of the show.”

Following his post, the actor was met with tons of love and support from fans, as well as his Heartstopper co-stars and creator/writer Alice Oseman.

Joe Locke, who plays his on-screen beau, wrote, “You owe nothing to anyone. I’m so proud of you my friend ?”

Alice shared, “I truly don’t understand how people can watch Heartstopper and then gleefully spend their time speculating about sexualities and judging based on stereotypes. I hope all those people are embarrassed as F-CK. Kit you are amazing ?”
