There’s no other tight-knit bond like the one between the former members of Destiny’s Child.
Musician Kelly Rowland revealed that when she welcomed her second son, Noah Weatherspoon, in January, her “sisters”—fellow bandmates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams—called in via Zoom during the birth.
“We had our family join on Zoom,” the “Motivation” singer told People. “They were able to see Noah come into the world. It was beautiful.” Rowland also revealed that her mother-in-law, as well as Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, joined in on the call to witness her baby’s arrival.
Rowland described Beyoncé and Williams as “awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome” aunts and said that they both came to visit Noah in person as soon as they could.
“The girls were literally over here at the house just recently and when they met the baby it was like another part of my heart just … Being able to share space with Michelle and Bey is truly a gift,” Rowland told Entertainment Tonight.
The singer described her bond with Beyoncé and Williams, per People, as “really a gift, because we’ve known each other for so long and the industry doesn’t really make friendships.” She added, “And I’m just so grateful for them and they are a highlight of my life. Not professionally, but our friendship and our sisterhood—you’re going to make me cry.”
Rowland announced Noah’s arrival on Instagram at the beginning of the year with a picture of her other son, Titan Weatherspoon. “We are truly grateful,” the proud mom wrote.
