Gillian McKeith is trying to "push the boundaries" and "cause a stir" in the I'm A Celebrity… South Africa camp, a body language expert has claimed.

Gillian, 63, was a late arrival on the All Stars series and has already ruffled a few feathers among her campmates, especially after it was revealed she had snook contraband into camp.

Body language expert Darren Stanton claims the TV star is purposely trying to "rebel" and looked to be "playing up to the camera" in recent episodes of the hit ITV show.

“Gillian is rebelling," he said. "She seems to be paradoxically the one that wants to challenge the rules and push the boundaries to cause a stir and see what happens."

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Darren continued: "She appeared to be playing up to the camera and purposely wants to make a statement, like smuggling things into camp.

"Ironically, the camp quite liked the fact that she had brought in contraband and were almost giddy on finding out."

The body language expert went on to note how Jordan Banjo was the only celebrity who appeared to "pull back" and question others about contraband in the camp.

"It was only Jordan that pulled back and brought sense back into camp by questioning others. We could see an alliance form between Jordan and Fatima as they have shown similar values," he added.

In contract, Gillian's body language showed she is "focused on herself" and her actions could even lead to her being one of the first to leave camp, Darren claimed.

"Gillian, however, demonstrated body language that signified she doesn’t care about the others in camp and is focused on herself and what she wants to do. She doesn’t want to follow suit, but this could be to her detriment as it could see her fall out of favour and fall victim to an early exit from camp," he concluded by saying.

In Thursday's episode of I'm A Celebrity South Africa, Gillian confessed to fellow campmate Helen Flanagan that she had smuggled salt into camp.

The 63 year old previously smuggled salt into the Australian jungle during her first appearance on the show back in 2010, when she was caught with it hidden in her underwear.

After Gillian shared her secret with Helen, 33, many other campmates were found to have contraband, which they all had to then give up.

Gillian had to give up tea bags, almonds, salt and mints, while Myleene Klass revealed she'd hidden seasoning in a hair scrunchie and Paul Burrell admitted to having a "tiny bit of coffee" before adding that it was nearly all gone.
