It's no secret that Love Island contestants undergo huge makeovers before they enter the villa, with each person wanting to look their best while on the ITV2 dating show.
Many Islanders like to make sure they're in the best shape possible and follow gruelling fitness regimes before appearing on the show, and some also undergo cosmetic treatments and procedures.
However, the pressure to look good on-screen comes at a price for most, and ex-Islander Rachel Fenton, 30, has admitted she ended up risking her health in order to achieve the 'perfect body' ahead of her Love Island debut in 2016.
Rachel, who fell for Rykard Jenkins while on the hit show, has revealed she starved herself and followed a strict exercise plan in preparation for her reality TV show appearance, all the while working 13-hour shifts as an NHS nurse.
The 30 year old was then targeted by trolls when she put weight back on after leaving the villa, with photos of her and then-boyfriend Rykard on holiday being hit with cruel comments.
Speaking to The Sun, Rachel said: "I put on quite a bit of weight after I came off, I think being in a relationship as well at the time, I didn't feel so much pressure.
“There were pictures of me on a beach and I saw comments everywhere saying ‘She's pregnant,’ when I wasn't. That was really horrible.”

The nurse, who now lives in Dubai, then found herself addicted to fillers and botox after Love Island, with so many businesses offering them to her free of charge thanks to her reality TV fame.
Rachel revealed she had gotten a "tiny bit" of filler and botox before appearing on the show, but it was afterwards she ended up getting a lot more done.
“I was just doing it because people offer it to you for free, and it’s always just any old person," she admitted.
However, she's since had all of it removed and admits she feels much better in herself, and feels she looks much younger than she did when she had the cosmetic work done.
Rachel returned to her job as an NHS trauma nurse not long after Love Island finished, as she ultimately decided the showbiz lifestyle was not for her.
She relocated to Dubai in 2021, where she still works as a nurse. Rachel revealed life is more "peaceful" in Dubai and she feels less pressure to keep up with content on social media than before.
