Harry Redknapp, 74, revealed he and his wife Sandra are “very excited” to become grandparents again, after Jamie Redknapp and his model girlfriend Frida Andersson, announced in May they are expecting their first child. The nation was overjoyed for the happy couple, but the footballing legend admitted his son is planning on keeping the gender a secret, away from public knowledge.

In a recent interview, Harry revealed he and Sandra are very lucky, as this will be their eighth grandchild.
“Jamie is very happy and Frida is happy,” he smiled.
“We’re lucky that Jamie has two boys already, Charley and Beau, and our other son Mark has five children, so this will be grandchild number eight.”
He continued to jokingly tell The Mirror: “We’ve got our hands full!”
Jamie shares Charles, 16, and Beau, 12, with ex Louise Redknapp, while Frida shares four with hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie.
After the news broke, reports claimed that the football pundit’s ex Louise was “knocked sideways” by the announcement.
But Harry revealed that he and Sandra are still in touch with their former daughter-in-law and the rest of the family and said she was doing “great”.
According to The Sun, he explained all is fine between Louise and Jamie.
Recently, Jamie and Frida enjoyed a relaxing weekend break away in the Cotswolds, sharing pictures of the idyllic scenery on Instagram.
The couple’s “babymoon” comes just weeks after they confirmed that they were expecting their first child together later this year.
The news was seemingly confirmed first by Frida, after she was spotted liking congratulation comments from fans on photos of the couple.
Despite keeping the official announcement very much low-key for family and friends, Harry Redknapp addressed the news he was going to be a grandfather again on talkRADIO.
He said: “Yeah, great, I’m really pleased.
“It’s good news, so looking forward to that and it’s exciting times.”
An insider also claimed to The Sun that Jamie and Frida are “absolutely delighted”.
“They’ve been virtually inseparable in lockdown, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength.
“The couple started telling their nearest and dearest last week.
“Jamie’s been telling pals he’s really excited to be a dad again — less excited about the sleepless nights, and nappy-changing.”
They added: “But both he and Frida will be brilliant, hands-on parents.”
