‘Sometimes you bust your a**!’: Halle Berry graciously recovers from taking a big fall onstage at a charity event in hilarious Instagram video

Halle Berry posted a hilarious video to Instagram on Saturday of her doing a ‘face plant’ while walking up to claim the podium at a charity event. 

The Oscar winner, 56 – who recently became the new chief communications officer of a biotech company – poked some fun at herself for a good cause when shared a video of her taking a big fall with her 8.1 million followers to promote Looking Beyond LA.

‘Sometime you bust your a**!’ wrote the X-Men alum, captioning her post on Instagram.

‘What happened was…. My dear friend @shillahekmatpiano invited me to speak at her charity event celebrating a wonderful organization called @lookingbeyondla that raises money for children with special needs… then that happened!!!

‘I face planted. If you can go to lookingbeyondla.com and donate. Children are worth it!’

Halle was on hand to present an award at the luncheon and she took her tumble trying to join her close friend Shilla Hekmat at the podium. 

In Berry’s video, she is seen falling out of the frame as the audience gasps, at which point the video freezes and zooms in on her black stiletto boot.

The Catwoman star recovered like the formidable pro that she is, jumping back up and commanding the microphone. 

She laughed into her hands as the room roared with applause, leading her say: ‘Ok, if I see this on the internet, Van’s coming for you,’ in reference to her beau Van Hunt.

Rocking her edgy blonde hairstyle, Halle looked gorgeous in a black Zuhair Murad suit embellished with metal studs.

The Frankie & Alice star’s shoes were Stuart Weitzman and she posted a picture of the look on Friday with the caption: ‘Friday Serve.’

Halle’s friend Shilla Hekmat – who co-chaired the luncheon – also posted a few group photos from the event and penned a touching tribute to Berry in the caption. 

‘I am so grateful to my dear friend Halle Berry @halleberry, who is truly one in a million. We were thrilled to have her present our 2023 Soaring Spirit Award…’

‘Thank you sweet friend for having me!’ replied Berry. ‘What a wonderful event and cause. BRAVO to you all!’

In addition to supporting charitable causes, Halle is working to instill change in the health and wellness space by becoming Pendulum Therapeutics’ chief communications officer.

She recently made the announcement with a video that was shared to her Instagram account on Thursday.

In the clip, the actress and director – who is currently dating musician Van Hunt – spoke about her new role at the biotech company, which is focused on metabolic health.

The performer also issued a press statement to further elaborate on her feelings regarding the partnership. 

Berry began by speaking about how she became ‘fast friends’ with Pendulum’s CEO and Co-Founder, Colleen Cutcliffe.

She stated: ‘We connected on so many levels – one, being mothers; two, caring about our health; and three, getting that information out to other people.’

The Die Another Day actress then spoke about the pride she felt after joining Pendulum’s team. 

‘I am now a part of a team of world-class researchers and scientists that care about nothing more other than bringing the latest information to you guys about metabolic health,’ she said.

Berry went on to remark that she considered prioritizing gut health to be highly important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. ‘If you have a healthy gut, then everything else about your body operates smoothly,’ she expressed.

The performer concluded by briefly speaking about what she would be doing in her new role at Pendulum. 

‘I am so excited to be a part of this team and it’s now my job to bring you guys all the information I can about it,’ she said.
