Gemma Atkinson discusses possibility her house has a ‘ghost’

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Gemma Atkinson, 36, has admitted she was left questioning whether her late dad’s ghost had been sending her “little messages” around her house today. The Hits Radio presenter’s beloved father, David, died at the age of 52 when she was just 17-years-old.

David’s tragic death was caused by a cardiac arrest.

The star, who lives with her boyfriend Gorka Marquez, their one-year-old daughter Mia, and their two dogs Norman and Ollie, started wondering about a paranormal presence in her home after a series of random occurrences.

Documenting the moment on Instagram in view of her 1.6 million followers, Gemma initially felt fearful as her coffee machine bizarrely switched itself on and one of her pet pooches suddenly started barking.

However, she then went on to reveal she feels comforted by the thought that her dad’s spirit could be paying her a visit, although her beau Gorka wasn’t so keen on the idea of ghosts.

Explaining her discoveries, Gemma said: “The coffee machine has just come on, on its own, even the dog’s barking!

“It’s just come on – on it’s own!”

The former Hollyoaks actress was then inundated with messages from her fans, who offered suggestions about what could have caused the bizarre chain of events.

Gemma said in a follow-up post: “Loads of you are saying there’s a ghost in the house with the coffee machine.

“Do you know, if there was, it wouldn’t bother me.

“Stuff like that doesn’t bother me.”

She added: “Gorka hates it, but I actually find it quite comforting.

“I don’t mind – I always think it’s my dad playing silly buggers, moving stuff around.”
