Hot on the heels of her exciting second pregnancy announcement, Gemma Atkinson has sweetly thanked her fans for the outpouring of love and support she has received in the wake of the news.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday morning, Hollyoaks actress Gemma, 38 and her partner Strictly Come Dancing pro Gorka Marquez, 32, revealed to the world that they were expecting baby number two later this year.

Alongside a photo of her growing bump, Gemma admitted she could no longer hide her pregnancy, as she had finally “popped”.

Immediately the comments section was filled with adorable messages of congratulations, including from a number of famous faces including Mollie King, Stacey Solomon, Giovanni Pernice and Zoe Ball to name but a few.

There were also countless messages from fans, with over 400,000 likes on the post at the time of writing, as they all wished the couple the best on their new journey.

In an Instagram story a few hours after the news, Gemma sweetly thanked everyone for their “lovely” messages, as she cheekily admitted she was “fully prepared for the chaos” of welcoming a little boy into their family.

She said: “Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages and well-wishes. It’s lovely!”

Gemma then continued with a smile: “Number two! Number two and a little boy. Crikey, a little boy. How lucky. Very, very lucky. But yeah, prepared for chaos!”

The star then elaborated by explaining she already has some experience thanks to her sister’s children, which included two boys and a girl.

“My sister’s got two lads and a girl,” she explained. “So fully prepared for the chaos! Cannot wait, bring it on.”

The couple’s daughter Mia, was also excited for the news, as they admitted her adorable reaction had even seen her suggesting a very unusual name.

Revealing Mia’s reaction to the news, the doting mum said: “Mia is absolutely thrilled! Although we may need to do some negotiating on names, as so far she’s adamant he’s going to be called Barbie [laughing face emoji].”

Gemma and Gorka received dozens of congratulatory messages from friends and fans, including by their Strictly Come Dancing pals.

“Congratulations!!! The best family and def the best parents,” said Strictly favourite Giovanni Pernice

Fellow Strictly star Dianne Buswell also penned: “So excited for you guys congratulations.”

Meanwhile Jowita Przystal – who joined the Strictly family last year – said: “Awww congratulations!!!!!”
