Eric Church remains atop Billboard‘s Top Album Sales, Chart, with his new album Soul debuting at No. 1 on the list, replacing his Heart, which has slipped to No. 9.
Earlier, two other albums from Church, The Outsiders and Chief, had claimed the No. 1 spot in 2014 and 2011, respectively.
According to MRC Data, Soul sold 42,000 copies in the U.S. in the week ending April 29. Of these, physical album sales comprise nearly 27,000 (14,000 CDs and 13,000 vinyl LPs), while digital album sales comprise a little under 15,000.
Church released Heart on April 16 as the first of three new albums, collectively referred to as Heart & Soul. The & album was released exclusively to members of Church’s Church Choir fan club, while Soul was released widely on April 23.
Before Church, Future achieved the feat of back-to-back No. 1 debuts on the album sales chart, with his self-titled album arriving at the top on the March 11, 2017-dated chart and HNDRXX opening at the top on the chart dated March 18, 2017.
