Elton John is resting up at home in the south of France after being seen by doctors at Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital.

Reports reveal that the Rocketman singer, 76, was taken to the orthopaedic department on Sunday evening after suffering some minor injuries in a household fall.

One of his representatives revealed to MailOnline that Elton was discharged on Monday morning and is now feeling much better.

"We can confirm that following a slip yesterday at his home in the south of France, Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure. Following check-ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and his now back at home and in good health."

Having headlined Glastonbury earlier in the summer – officially his farewell performance – the superstar has been spending some quality time in Nice with husband David Furnish and their two sons.
