Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson on their close friendship
Dakota Johnson has left fans gawking with her unrecognisable look during the first sneak peeks of her newest flick, Daddio.
The 33-year-old, who catapulted to fame with her breakthrough role in Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015, had ditched her classic straight brunette locks and neat bangs for a new platinum look.
In a first look at the drama, the actress was seen in the back of a taxi cab, as city lights reflected off the car windows slightly distorting her image.
Dakota has been transformed with a messy light blonde bob that ends just above her shoulders, with her bangs slightly grown out on the sides to frame her face.
In a second snap, legendary actor Sean Penn was seen in the driver seat barely visible in front of the car door sporting his signature mustache and tousled hair.

As the production company, TeaTime Pictures, posted the snaps on their Instagram page, Dakota’s mother, celebrated actress Melanie Griffith, shared her support with a string of hearts in the comments.
Many fans praised the actress’ new look, with some claiming it was a recall to Dakota’s early days in the industry.
Although the actress was raised in Hollywood, as the daughter of Miami Vice star Don Johnson and a third generation actress on her mum’s side, Dakota jumpstarted her own acting career in 2010 with a near platinum blonde look.
However, most fans have only ever known the star as a brunette due to her sensational role as Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey series, based on the best-selling book that described the character as having chocolate brown curls.

Dakota’s new project, Daddio is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, with only Dakota and Sean in the cast.
The hour and 40-minute-long drama reportedly all takes place within the taxi cab as Dakota’s character’s journey through New York City takes an unexpected turn.
Daddio also marks the directorial debut of Christy Hall, who wrote the original text behind the film as a stage play.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Christy hinted that Dakota might be holding a few more unexpected surprises up her sleeves, telling fans: “You truly cannot divert your gaze.
“She seamlessly balances between being sexy and foul-mouthed while still maintaining an innocent softness.”
