Kaley Cuoco and her husband Karl Cook have announced they are splitting up after three years of marriage.

The 35 year old actress and Karl, 30, released a joint statement through People magazine, explaining that the paths they are each on at the moment have taken them in different directions.

"Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions," they revealed.

The pair continued: "We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together.

"There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary."

The statement went on: "We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further."

OK! Online has approached Kaley's representatives for further comment.

Kaley and Karl, who share a passion for horse riding, first began dating back in 2016. After sharing a series of Instagram photos together, they made their red carpet debut in September of that year at Longines Masters Los Angeles Gala.

Karl proposed on Kaley’s 32nd birthday just one year later in 2017 and she broke down in a fit of emotion.

Sharing the video to her Instagram fans, she wrote: "Still crying – every part of this night has been perfection just like you @mrtankcook I love you forever!"

The video sees a red-faced Kaley crying while she shows her hand to the camera.

"We’re engaged," she declares before breaking down in to sobs. Karl then points out she hasn’t actually said yes so she shouts "yes" at the camera and continues to cry. Karl also shared a video of them swaying together following their happy news.

"In life, there is nothing like dancing right after getting engaged," he said. "The purity and grace of the moment are inexplicable, it is truly as though life were a balloon bouncing on the smoothest zephyr.

"Honey; all I want is to be a balloon bouncing, bobbing, and flowing through life together. You are my everything @normancook."

The last time Kaley posted a photo of herself with Karl on her Instagram feed was nine weeks ago, which showed a black and white photo of them outside.

In the caption, she gushed over him as they celebrated being married for three years. She wrote: "NY, June 30th ,2016 is the year we met. 2 years to the day before we got married and now 3 years married!

"Why have you stayed married to me for so long?! I’m sincerely impressed @mrtankcook lol I love you oh so much you have no idea …happy anniversary!!!" followed by three red heart emojis.
