Benidorm star turned Hollywood sensation Bel Powley weds fellow actor Douglas Booth in idyllic ceremony after six years of dating

Bel Powley and Douglas Booth tied the knot in an idyllic ceremony on Saturday. 

The couple, who became engaged in July 2021, looked a blissful image of happiness as they beamed for pictures in their wedding finery over the weekend. 

The actress, 31, wore a duo of stunning dresses, including a flood-length white number with a textured body and later a sexy mini dress for the party.

The couple’s pals shared a slew of snaps on social media, with one guest penning: ‘A wonderful day celebrating two of the biggest legends and their love for each other – thank you @belpowley and @douglasbooth for all the joy.’ 

They have been linked since 2016, after the pair were spotted kissing on a night out.

Bel looked incredible in her first wedding dress, as she defied the biting British weather to bare her shoulders in the gown with spaghetti straps. 

She highlighted her waist with the nipped in sillohuette and opted for ballerina chic in a pair of elegant pumps, just visible under the hem. 

She truly entered party mode later on however when she slipped into her dazzling mini dress comprising silver lurex threads woven through the body while she was in all-out glamour with jewel encrusted straps and hair pins. 

Douglas went for a simple and classic navy suit with a taupe coloured tie.  

Bel and Douglas are thought to have met on the set of period romance A Storm In The Stars, which was filmed in Dublin and in Luxembourg in 2016. 

Haifaa Al-Mansour’s film looked at the romance between 18-year-old Mary Shelley, played by Elle Fanning, and Douglas Booth’s Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Bel previously said: ‘He was playing Percy Shelley and Elle Fanning was playing Mary; I played Claire Clairmont, Mary’s stepsister. That’s when we fell in love – ahhh!’ 

She also discussed what is is like dating an actor, saying: ‘Definitely. You just have to find the right one! If you work away a lot and your partner doesn’t, it can be hard… 

Happy news: Douglas popped the question to Bel in July 2021

During filming Douglas shared several loved-up snaps with Bel on Instagram.  The actor has been linked with several woman including Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas after the pair arrived at Centre Court at Wimbledon together in 2016.   

Pride And Prejudice And Zombies actor Douglas starred in The Riot Club alongside Freddie Fox, who Cressida was previously linked to.

Bel is best known for her role in coming-of-age drama The Diary of a Teenage Girl opposite Kristen Wiig and Alexander Skarsgard, as well as Benidorm and A Royal Night Out.

In Benidorm she was a member of the Dyke family, known for their brash Cockney accents and no-nonsense attitude on their Benidorm resort. 

She recently starred in the adaptation of Dolly Alderton’s hit memoir Everything I Know About Love as well as her all-star role in The Morning Show.

‘I’d never worked on a big American project with these big-hitter actors before. [Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are] complete powerhouses. They were hands-on producing the show and obviously they’re the leads in it.’
