Aljaz Skorjanec, 31, is known for being calm and composed on the dance floor, but he revealed how being voted off Strictly Come Dancing six years ago left him “fuming”. The Slovenian-born dance professional was partnered with Helen George for the 2015 series, and the pair performed a stunning Paso Doble to At The End Of The Day from the musical Les Miserables.

Kevin Clifton who also appeared on the same series as a professional, admitted he was a fan of the pair’s sizzling performance.
Speaking on his self-titled podcast to Aljaz, the Grimsby native said he would have been “fuming” if he had been voted off following such an epic routine.
Aljaz responded: “Kevin I was. I was very furious.
“I was fuming, I can say that now because that’s years ago, but I literally…I didn’t get it, I didn’t get it.
“But you see that’s one of those numbers, that’s exactly that… I knew it was a good number, the story was there, the set looked incredible.
“Helen was phenomenal, that girl could do it all.
“I think to that point she had the highest average score, like she was incredible, she was amazing.”
However, despite their efforts, Aljaz and Helen were voted off the show before making it to the semi-finals.
When asked about leaving the show, the 31-year-old said at the time: “You know what… I did have a little bit of a cry.
“It is hard to admit but I did. We had an incredible run.
“Every single week we performed some dances that I thought looked better.”
The pair had gone head to head with Corrie star Georgia May Foote and her partner Giovanni Pernice in a tense dance-off.

On the Saturday before elimination the Call The Midwife star had come second last in points on the leaderboard with 34, while Georgia came second top with 36.
However, the dance-off participants are decided via a mixture of points plus the public vote.
“It was bittersweet but we did our best,” added Aljaz.
Helen then told Zoe Ball on Strictly: It Takes Two that she still hadn’t adjusted to leaving the show.
She said: “I’m OK, I’m a bit shell shocked, it’s all a bit strange – but it was really nice having a lay-in this morning. It was strange not going off to rehearsal.”
Aljaz continued: “I was trying to call you at 8am, but I couldn’t get through.”
Speaking about her efforts on the show, Helen said: “Well, there is always something more that one can do.
“I suppose in the dance-off I was given a clear direction… I hope I did everything… I was hurting by the end of it.”
