Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Odudu has opened up about the instantaneous “strong connection” she felt with dance partner Kai Widdrington. The TV presenter, 33, and her professional dance partner have sent sparks flying on the Strictly dance floor this season with their steamy performances. Now, both AJ and Kai, 26, have spoken about how things “fell into place” from the first time they met.

In a new interview, the Blackburn-born beauty opened up about her first experience of meeting Kai.
AJ said: “We both like to work hard, but we both like to have a laugh as well.
“We both have the shared goal, I think it’s just those things that are the basis of a strong connection.”
Kai also weighed in, adding that he and AJ were instantly in sync and gushed over their dancing abilities.

After admitting that she is very “open” about the fact that she’s single, AJ explained that she’s hesitant to jump into a new relationship.
She said: “Because I’ve suffered so much heartache in previous relationships – and have been cheated on – when it comes to romance I’m definitely not the sort of person to just jump into something.”
Upon being asked about her and Kai getting together, Aj said: “Yeah. What is wrong with that? Nothing, is the answer.”
Kai and AJ previously appeared on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two to address the rumours of their romance.
Kai explained: “If people want to think that, then great… but we were just doing our job, and AJ did a great job.”
Following their performance to Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing on Movie Week, Kai said to AJ: “Aww I I love you, I love you so much,” as they hugged.
Last week, fans were left shocked when AJ and Kai were left at the bottom of the leaderboard.
The couple danced the Salsa to Rhythm Is Gonna Get You/Get On Your Feet by Gloria Estefan.
However, they were awarded a mere 30 points by the Strictly judges, while Rhys and Nancy topped the scoreboard with an incredible 39.
AJ and Kai went on to appear in the dance-off against BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker and his partner Nadiya Bychkova.
The judges decided to send Dan and Nadiya home following their Tango to Santa Maria by Gotan Project.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
