A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas is best known for her work on the Channel 4 property show, however the 32-year-old started her career in the entertainment industry. Reflecting on her career, the presenter said she would love to return to her roots and go back to America to host the Late Late show.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, she spilled: “I would absolutely love to do James Corden’s Late Late Show.

“That’s a definite, I feel like… James Corden if you’re ever off sick, give me a shout because I would love to front that show, it’s brilliant.

“I love the States as it is, it’s fun, it’s energetic, it’s different.

“I come from an entertainment background, so as much as people know me for property my other passion is definitely entertainment.

“Singing, dancing, acting, the film world and the fashion world, all that sort of stuff, I love it.”

She added of the host: “He’s very funny.”

As well as shooting new episodes for the Channel 4 property show, Scarlette, alongside her brother Stuart also recently filmed for a special episode of Love it or List it.

The pair will host the show as part of the broadcaster’s Black to Front day, a diversity project which will air today.

The siblings will be helping homeowners decide whether it’s time to renovate their properties or sell up.

On stepping into Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer’s shoes, she said: “When I got the call from my agent, I was over the moon, it’s really exciting.

“To be able to front it and with my brother, it was absolutely brilliant.”

On going against her brother, she added: “We’re both competitive as it is, it’s more banter with the competitiveness, like most siblings have.

“We wanted what was best for the couple.”

Channel 4’s Black to Front initiative amplifies the conversations around representation and diversity in the industry.

On working with people of different races and ethnicities, Scarlette said: “I want to front shows with people that are good at their jobs and I think that’s where we can get a bit side tracked.

“Of course, Black to Front day is to make sure there are more people of colour in front of the camera, but at the same time, and I speak for myself and other friends I have in the presentation world, we don’t just want boxes ticked.

“Because, then you’re hiring people for the sake of it and actually they’re not very good then you get a problem of incompetence.

“I want to be able to front a show with someone who’s very good at what they do and enjoy it as much as I enjoy it and put the same amount of work into it.”

Scarlette and Stuart’s Love it or List it broadcasting on Friday 10th September at 8pm on Channel 4 as part of Black to Front day.

A Place In The Sun continues today at 4pm on Channel 4.
