Following the release of her seismic summer anthem “Off Wiv Ya Headz,” Nia Archives has just returned with new music — and she’s calling all female junglists with “Bad Gyalz.”

Having previewed the record during her headline performance at Outlook Festival, this new release from Archives captures a slew of relatable lyricism and stands up as a tune that is designed for all the “Bad Gyalz” who want to dance, skank, and express themselves without judgment.

Coming with some accompanying visuals, the VHS-shot movie features a series of vignettes of different girls and their friendship circles from all walks of life and ethnicities. Additionally, the music video features a slew of special guests, with the likes of Mercury Prize-nominated singer, Olivia Dean, Buck Betty, and PXSSY PALACE, an arts platform rooted in international nightlife, celebrating black, indigenous and people of color who are women, queer, intersex, trans or non-binary.

Commenting on her new track, Archives said: “I was thinking about the fact that whenever I go to one of my shows, it’s around 85% women age 18-25 which is so amazing! And, they’re all baddies, absolute junglists. So, I wanted to make a song that represents that and the women that come to my raves. That’s how “Bag Gyalz” was born.”

To celebrate the release, Archives has also announced a one-off “Bad Gyalz Day Party” on August 6 at 60 Dock Road, featuring DJ sets from DJ Flight, PXSSY PALACE, Sim0ne, and Izzy Bossy. Born from a place of love and inclusivity and the desire for positive change around safety in the scene, Nia wants everyone from marginalized backgrounds and communities to feel welcome and safe to enjoy the music at a rave.
