Love Island viewers reckon Maya Jama might have taken a dig at Stormzy on Aftersun.

During Sunday’s episode of the spin off show, the 28-year-old host appeared to show some empathy towards Molly Marsh after her ex Zach wore her bracelet while kissing new fling Kady.

Maya, whose rapper ex is rumoured to have cheated on her before their breakup four years ago, seemed to reference her own past experiences as they discussed what went down.

She said: ‘That’s real life though girls – and boys, they’ll wear your necklace and lip someone else, we just don’t get it on camera.’

‘I feel like that comment from Maya was directed at Stormzy,’ laughed one fan, while another viewer tweeted: ‘Maya definitely indirecting Stormzy in that comment.’

Although Maya has rarely spoken about the end of their relationship, the grime star previously admitted he ‘made a mistake’ leading to their split.

He told Louis Theroux in a 2019 BBC documentary: ‘It was, like, “OK, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you”.

‘That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn’t it? There were other things in terms of mistakes I’d made. I didn’t do what a man should do to fully appreciate, love and care for his woman.’

The pair were notoriously tight lipped on their relationship, although Stormzy shared a glimpse into their split with the release of his 2019 album Heavy Is the Head.

Speaking to Charlamagne Tha God following the release of song Lessons, believed to be about their split, Stormzy branded the TV presenter a ‘star girl’ and ‘an amazing woman’ as he addressed their public breakup.

Asked by the Breakfast Show host whether there was hope for a reconciliation, Stormzy admitted while he wanted it, he wasn’t sure it was on the cards just yet.

‘I would love for that to happen, but I don’t know… I would love to be the man who she… I would love to do all the things that make it work,’ he said. ‘I want to marry her, I want to have her children. All of that.’
