Katherine Ryan has revealed she sent fellow parents ‘waivers’ laying out rules for her teenage daughter’s Halloween party.
The 40-year-old comedian asked that her ‘good behaviour form’ was signed before her 14-year-old daughter Violet’s friends could be admitted to the party at her home.
The doting mum has also hired a security firm to carry out bag searches and Katherine herself will also be present.
MailOnline reports that the star said she ‘compiled the party document’ because of ‘modern day liabilities’ and that she also wanted to protect her ‘property and children’.
Katherine, who shares a nine-month-old daughter and two-year-old son with her partner Bobby Kootstra, explained: ‘I am allowing the Halloween party […] I don’t know how you navigate having teenagers and keeping them safe and keeping them respectful, and keeping your property from being vandalised.’
She added: ‘But basically, I gave Violet a number of children she was allowed to invite. She sent these invites out to more children than that.
‘I also prepared a document. I just think in this day and age, with liabilities and having all these kids in my house, I want to send a really clear message to them, when they’re 14, what the expectations are in my house.’
Katherine then noted: ‘And also, I think it’s a good message to the parents to know that if I expect this form signed by a parent with the parent’s phone number, then they know that I’m not the kind of mum that allows drinking or vaping or anything else.
‘Those parents are going to go “oh, if this mum’s making me sign this, I feel safe sending my kid there”.’
When she’s not on stage or making us laugh on TV, Katherine is relaxing at her residence in London with Bobby and her three kids.
Her incredibly modern living space has extra high ceilings, a swanky kitchen, a staircase with glass banisters and floral wallpaper, and a sprawling garden space – so it’s no wonder she’s being extra cautious over Violet’s party!
