Ruth Langsford has opened up about the challenges of her husband Eamonn Holmes’ health as she admitted his mobility may never fully improve.
The GB News Breakfast anchor, 63, recently revealed he ‘can’t walk’ after spinal surgery in September last year, following which he suffered a horrific fall.
Eamonn underwent a spine and neck stretching procedure in a bid to improve his mobility, however Ruth confessed that he may never reach a full recovery.
Speaking to Woman & Home magazine, Ruth said: ‘With any care situation – and there are millions of carers in this country – it isn’t always easy, but if something happens to somebody you love, you help them as much as you can. It’s testing but we manage as a family.’
The couple are parents to 21-year-old Jack who helps out with his dad’s health, but the Loose Women presenter admitted the family take it day by day.

The TV star doesn’t want to become too cautious as she gets older, but equally she admitted she’s not about to go skydiving.
Although she is still keen to grab work opportunities, Ruth debunked the rumours that she has been asked to return to This Morning in light of Holly Willoughby resigning from her role, confirming they are not true.
Ruth and Eamonn presented the Friday episode of the show from 2006 until 2021 when Eamon ended his contractual obligations with ITV and his relationship with the channel.
While Ruth no longer presents This Morning, she continues to work on Loose Women but said she is not in the running to replace Holly.
‘I laughed when I saw that report. I have no idea where these things come from,’ she admitted.
The star did a week with Rylan Clark on the show last year and said she would consider doing a short stint on the show again.
Despite having no current plans to commit long term, she said Eammon’s relationship with ITV wouldn’t stop her from returning for a short stint on the show.

‘I don’t have to ask Eamonn’s permission to do anything, or for him me, so if ITV said, ‘Would you come and do a week on This Morning?’ and if I was free and it was with the right person, I probably would do it.’
Ruth also discussed being an older women working in the television industry.
Despite her age, 63, she is still as ambitious as ever and would jump at the chance for a prime-time Saturday night chat show as well as focusing on her clothing line and continuing with Loose Women.
The star admitted age can be a negative thing in TV as you are in the control of the people behind the scenes making the decisions and if you get cut there is nothing you can do.
The television presenter also opened up about her struggles with her weight as she revealed she tries not to let it consume her.
She admitted that since the menopause she has put on weight, however she balances getting her steps in with having a good time and staying confident.
Ruth said she still wants to wear stylish clothes and goes through phases of feeling both confident in herself and motivated to lose some weight.
