Michael J Fox pays tribute to his wife in ITV Lorraine interview

Michael J Fox, 62, met Tracy Pollan, 63, in 1985 when the young actress played his love interest on season 4 of Family Ties.

They started dating two years later and haven’t looked back since their wedding in 1998.

This was three years before the Back to the Future star was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s at the age of just 29.

A source has confirmed the closeness of the couple, describing Tracy as Michael’s “rock”.

They told US Weekly: “[Tracy’s] been his rock and has been there for him every step of the way — every setback and every success.

The couple recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary, with the pair both paying gushing tribute on Instagram.

Pollan wrote: “35 years!!! Happy anniversary my love.

“Here’s to many more glorious adventures together. I could not love you more.”

Mike mirrored: “35 years of laughter, living, listening and loving you @tracy.pollan. Thank you for it all. Forever yours, Mike.”

35 years to the day, Fox and Pollan are still together, as a shining example that celebrity couples can actually persevere and thrive through life side-by-side.

They share four children: son Sam, 34, and three daughters, twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, 28, and Esme, 21.

The pair have regularly shared secrets throughout the years about how they keep their marriage going so strong.

In 2019 he explained on This Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he has to be able to make his wife laugh.

He said: “I feel funny saying this because my daughter is in the audience but keep the sex dirty and the fights clean.”

Pollan has also supported Fox in his Parkinson’s advocacy efforts, serving on the Board of Directors of his Michael J. Fox Foundation since 2000.

A source previously told US: “Tracy has always been Michael’s biggest cheerleader from before his diagnosis, and nothing changed after — if anything it brought them closer together.

“Seeing how Tracy stepped up and helped in every way, she could [make] Michael fall in love with her more and he enjoys showering her with love and gifts these days.”
