George Clooney rules out going into politics

George and Amal Clooney made a glamorous appearance in Venice on Tuesday as they enjoyed a romantic stroll in the sunshine before cruising off across the rivers.

The 62-year-old looked effortlessly dapper in a dark navy blue shirt that accentuated his tanned skin and highlighted his biceps as he waved to photographers.

He also donned some smart pinstriped trousers and beige loafers, accessorising the look with a silver watch and some reflective sunglasses.

The Hollywood star kept his iconic black and grey hair slicked back as he nestled his wife’s arm into his.

Amal flaunted her jaw-dropping physique in an elegant black and white minidress with geometric flower patterns lining the hems.

Revealing her toned legs, the 45-year-old opted for a sensible pair of black kitten heels, matching the black handbag that hung at her side.

She left her chocolate brown hair loose as it curled around her shoulders in effortless waves and finished off the look with a statement pair of black sunglasses lined with a standout gold trim.

The fashionable couple strolled around Venice, taking in the local sights and chatting with some friends before getting into a canal boat and heading off across the city’s rivers to get to their hotel.

The couple, who are looking forward to their 10th wedding anniversary next year, enjoyed some quality time together ahead of the Hollywood star’s jam-packed festival run.

George and Amal’s arrival in the coastal town comes just a day before the start of the 80th Venice International Film Festival on Wednesday.

The father-of-two is one of the few A-listers expected to be walking the red carpet this year as the internationally renowned festival is set to be far more scaled back than usual due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood.

A handful of independent productions have been given the go-ahead to continue work and allowing their stars to promote the projects without crossing the SAG-AFTRA or WGA picket lines.

As a result, a few Hollywood stars can join in the festival’s red carpet, with Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver are also reportedly set to still make an appearance.

The former Star Wars icon is expected to be promoting his new project Ferrari, where he plays the racing legend Enzo Ferrari while Jessica is believed to be attending for her role in Michel Franco’s Memory.
