Getting paid to travel the world and try out luxury experiences most people have on their bucket list sounds like the dream – and Royal Caribbean is making that a reality.

The cruise line has just opened applications for a Shore Apprentice, where they will pay the lucky employee £6,000 to travel the world for three weeks.

The responsibilities? Trying out the shore experiences passengers can get on cruise holidays, and then posting about it on Instagram, Insta Stories and IGTV.

We’re talking trips to see glaciers in Alaska, exploring Japan’s beautiful Osaka, white water rafting in the Norwegian Fjords, or taking on the world’s longest urban zip wire in Dubai.

Basically, it’s £2,000 a week to have the time of your life.

You’ll act as an apprentice to Royal Caribbean’s Instagrammer-in-Chief, Russ Francis.

Oh, and you’ll even get to be one of the first people to set foot on the company’s new private island Perfect Day at CocoCay, set to open in May 2019.

As for the application, no need to dust off your CV or fill out a tedious form – instead, you just need an Instagram account.

Candidates just need to share their best travel story, image or video (via a post, Instagram stories or IGTV), tagging @RoyalCaribbeanUK and #ShoreExplorer.

You’ll need to upload your application until 11.59pm on Friday 1st March.

A Royal Caribbean spokesperson said: "We’re looking for an adrenaline junkie who is not only hungry for adventure, but also has a unique ability to capture a moment and tell a story in a simple social media post.

"We already offer a huge amount of incredible, once-in-a-lifetime, on-land experiences as part of our cruise holidays – from zip wires and white water rafting, to walking on glaciers and hot air balloon rides.

"By launching this position, we’re hoping that the winning candidate will take our shore excursion programme to the next level."

There will be panel of judges on hand to help determine who gets hired, including The Vamps’ James McVey.

The singer said: "My jungle experience taught me that you really can’t beat the thrill of exploring new destinations and experiences – whether on land or sea – and that’s what becoming a Shore Explorer is all about.

"I’m so excited to be working with Royal Caribbean to find the perfect person for this new Apprentice-Ship; someone who has a passion for travel, exploration and seeking out new and extraordinary experiences around the world. And, of course, they have to be brilliant at sharing their adventure online too!"
