This year's awards has also revealed that five of the top ten B&Bs in the world are in the UK according to users of the review site.

The Travellers' Choice Awards is based on millions of reviews over the course of a year from holidaymakers around the world.

Users voted The 25 Boutique B&B in Torquay as their favourite.

The adult-only property has just six rooms, with nightly rates starting from £125.

Situated within walking distance of the English Riviera, the award-winning B&B has had 100 per cent five star reviews on TripAdvisor.

Fans have raved about everything from the homemade biscuits and cakes to the Elemis toiletries and amazing hosts.

Four other UK properties made it onto the top ten of the best B&Bs.

Bindon Bottom B&B in West Lulworth came in at number three, while The Grange Bed and Breakfast in Fylingthorpe was number four.

In fifth position was Swallows Rest Bed & Breakfast in Brigstock and Hillstone Lodge in Colbost on the Isle of Skye was number seven.

Sun Online Travel recently revealed that there's a book of B&B breakfast options.

Some are bizarre, including sardines in custard, while others, including a knickerbocker glory made from muesli, actually sound quite appetising.

The entries are all from Eviivo's annual Tastiest B&B Breakfast awards and were judges by a panel including Michel Roux Jr, Prue Leith and Dan Lepard.
