EasyJet Traveller magazine put together its 12 best travel experiences for 2018, naming the best alternative places to visit on the planet.
Winner of the “best public toilet” award was the Strait Street toilets in Valetta, Malta – and we can see why.
Like something from a fancy nightclub, they’re illuminated with neon lights that read “I love Tracey Emin” in tribute to the British artist.
The loos look like the foyer from a music hall or cabaret club and have heavy red, draped curtains at the entrance.
There’s even an attendant who wears a dinner jacket with a bow tie – and there’s also music playing inside the cubicles.
It costs 30 cents to enter the loo – and if you’re a fan, try checking out the island’s cinema-themed toilets in St Paul’s Bay.
The airline magazine awards also revealed the “best hotel for Instagram likes”, which was named as the Paradiso in San Antonio, Ibiza.
Decorated in millennial pink, the art-deco style hotel is a haven for party people who want to impress with their photos.
Pastel pink bedrooms have details such as turquoise mirrors or bright orange chairs and the poolside bar comes complete with huge cactuses and a bright purple pool table.
The swimming pool at the Hotel Miramonti in Italy was names as the “best pool with a view”.
The infinity pool has saltwater and looks out over a beautiful alpine valley.
EasyJet Traveller Editor Jonny Ensall said: “The #easyJetBestOf awards are a refreshing alternative to stuffy travel guides. They celebrate the real experiences that gave us goosebumps this year.
“We have a fantastic network of travel writers, bloggers, vloggers and photographers who were all very keen to share the great things they did in 2018 that would otherwise go under the radar.”
Sun Online Travel previously revealed that hotels have top-secret rooms for VIP guests that are hidden from regular guests – and here's how to stay there.
